As you might have guessed, a bleaching procedure can be a very aggressive way to whiten your teeth. A good dentist will work to prevent this powerful bleaching agent from contacting the gums and soft oral tissues by applying a protective gel or rubber shield to these areas before the procedure. However, nearly every patient has a sensitivity or reaction to this type of bleaching treatment.
